I’m currently an early stage venture investor at Matrix Partners based in San Francisco.
Previously I was a consultant at McKinsey based in New York City. I spent most of my time working within McKinsey’s High-Tech practice across a range of topics including: pricing, GTM strategy, growth strategy, M&A, operations and customer success. I was also actively involved in the firm’s Fast Growth Tech practice, which serves early / growth stage pre-IPO companies.
Prior to joining McKinsey, I was fortunate enough to be educated at Columbia Business School. While in business school at CBS, I focused on the venture capital and high tech industries. In addition to a tailored curriculum, I worked in early stage venture capital at Bessemer Venture Partners. I also advised a number of early stage companies on issues related to market entry, customer acquisition, fundraising and other growth/scale issues. These companies included 2U, Betterment, Pristine and HeTexted. I also served as an InSITE Fellow and board member of the Private Equity and Venture Capital club.
I began my post-college career at the New York City Department of Education first as an elementary school teacher and then in portfolio planning. I also wrote my senior honors thesis at Cornell on a topic in higher education.
Before landing in NYC, I attended Cornell University as an Economics and Government major with a minor in Information Science. While at Cornell, I was actively involved in the start-up scene and served as President of the Cornell Technology Initiative. I also worked for a variety of internet start-ups including Prendismo (formerly eClips) and WonderHowto. I also co-founded a university-focused marketplace.
Before heading east, I grew up in Los Angeles, CA. Go Lakers! I’m always up for meeting someone new or learning about a new start-up. So please get in touch if you’re building something interesting!
